SEO Booster Lite

Take a look at the PRO VERSION

This plugin was created based by the idea in the article, Second Page Poaching – Advanced White Hat SEO Techniques.

Update: Read the documentation page for installation and usage

Update: The effect of the plugin has just been confirmed by a user, read the story here.

Read more about the plugin here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-booster-lite/

The plugin detects and collects visits by users from search engines, especially from those pages listed on page two of the search engine.

By adding the provided widget in your WordPress blog, it will present site-wide links to these pages with the search terms it has detected, and by adding site-wide links to the posts with the search term from the search engine, it will attempt to boost those pages from page 2 to page 1.

The plugin is hard-coded to only list the posts from page 2 in the search engines, so once the post has reached page 1 or falls further down (page 3 and downwards) the links will no longer be displayed in the widget.

  • Extract the zip-file, containing the folder “seo-booster”
  • Upload to your wp-content/plugins/ folder on your blog
  • Log in to your blog, go to the plugins page and look for “SEO Booster Lite” and activate the plugin
  • Go to your “Widgets” section under “Appearance” and look for and include the widget where you want
  • Click the Widget to change the options
  • Wait for your blog to get traffic from page two searches. This could take some time, or it can be really quick. Just wait, and it will happen :-)

The Plugin per default adds a backlink to CleverWP.com, and although I would be happy if you left the link as it is, feel free to use the checkbox to turn off the backlink.

** This is no longer optional. Buy SEO Booster PRO to remove the backlink, and get access to all the other cool features! **

Totally love this plugin. Thanks man!

Howdy there,
I am trying to use this great plugin, and tested it out myself, by triggering one of my second page google results. That gave me a big fat scary warning at the top of the page as follows:

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in ((mydomain.com))/plugins/seo-booster-lite/seo-booster.php on line 153

Any hints about this are welcome – thanks, y’all!

Hi

I see the problem, and I have just released 1.0.2 (should be ready shortly in the WordPress repository) that should fix this problem. If it does not, please come back and let me know, and I will try to figure out the problem.

Sorry for the problems, its hard to test and find all problems when there are so many combinations of WordPress versions, hosting, PHP version, settings, etc. Thank you for letting me know! :)

Many thanks for your rapid response! I am updated and it works perfectly now. (I have tested it with a few of my known page-two keywords.)

I have referred my mom to a few of your tutorial vids as well. Thanks, dude!

Glad to hear it worked out :-) And thank you for the referral to your mom :) I aim to expand a lot more, and eventually turn it into a membership site for the other plugins I have planned. Tell your mom to sign up now while membership is free :)

dude any seo plugins you can develop i gladly accept and love, blackhat ones would make me even happier, especially backlink building ones.

one question, how exactly does this plugin work i dont exactly how creating links on the page based on the search entry …. i mean google doesn’t actually see those because google isnt coming to the site via any of those page 2 links, at most you’ll have contextual links for visitors based on their page 2 keywords…

please explain i’d really appreciate it

Hi Chris

Thank you for your comment, I hope you enjoy the next plugins also :-) p.s. please note, SEO Booster Lite is the only free plugin I will release for now, the next plugins, some of which will be “blackhat”, will be for members only.

Take a look at linklaunder.com … I have a major bug to fix, but it is basically automatic and relevant linkbuilding.

Regarding your question: The plugin collects the data of the visitors from the search engines, and based on a very simple algorithm, creates site-wide links with the relevant search queries to the pages/posts that we are trying to move from page 2 to page 1. This plugin merely assists in boosting your placements on the search engines.

If the plugin were to show only links to the search engines it would be cloaking, and hence something especially Google would hold against you. This plugin is totally “white-hat”, albeit automated and clever (remember, I do not take credit for the actual idea).

Hi there friend,

I am getting another interesting quirk. Amongst all my neat page-2 links are some mysterious 3-digit numbers. These aren’t post id’s. I am not quite sure what they are. Possibly the search engine position?

You can check them out on my website. Just click through to any post, and check the bottom of the sidebar.

Thanks again for a great plugin!

rohin April 25, 2009 at 18:10

I’m a bit intriqued by your plugin , it’s not blackhat but at the same time if we give juice to articles that are not on page 1 of google won’t our overall page rank go down if we do this.

Also is this plugin compatible with all-in-one-seo , platinum seo , or WP-NofollowPost ?

Lastly what if we are in page 3/4/5 etc etc ?

admin April 26, 2009 at 08:21

Hi Rohin

First of all, thanks, and yes, I agree, its not blackhat, its just an automated whitehat SEO trick. By linking to internal pages we merely boost them, how can we receive “punishment” by linking to internal pages on our own blog?

As so far as to compability to all-in-one-seo and platinum seo, I have yet to discover any problems. They do not interfere with each other in any way, at least to my knowledge. I do not know/use WP-NofollowPost, but give it a go, and let me know of any problem, and I will take a look at it.

Lastly, the plugin detects all visitors from search engines from any SERP page. Try reading this post: http://mywordpress.com/free/find-your-most-potential-pages-to-seo-optimize-with-seo-booster-lite.html, which can give you a bit more insight, and also idea on how to use that feature.

I hope that answers your questions. Please tell us your experience with the plugin.

rohin April 26, 2009 at 11:34

I’ll definatly give it a try when I get a chance to , it’s funny though ,everyone wants to be the best so we can’t all be using the same techniques and do exactly the same thing otherwise everyone would be #1 on serps , and if anything possibly plugins level the playing field too much lol.

I’m done ranting I’ll give it a try later tonight.

admin April 26, 2009 at 17:27

Hi rohin, I appreciate your rant :-)

You have a valid point, yet you forget something. There are literally hundreds of factors involved in SEO. Domainname, age of domain, url structure, theme variations, keyword positioning in text, backlinks, anchored backlinks, and so forth and so forth. The combinations and variations make it a quite uneven playing field :-)

I created this plugin because I liked the original article and found the reasoning to be valid and logical. As to its effectiveness, well, the jury is still out for that. I released the plugin as soon as I had a working version.

I look forward to hearing your experience if you decide to try it out and use it for a while. Cheers.
