New WordPress Plugin – myUsersPingForMe
Today marks the launch of the WordPress Plugin, myUsersPingForMe.
The plugin uses your visitors to automatically ping random RSS aggregators.
This can help spread the visibility of your homepage.
Read more about it at the plugin page.
The plugin is free for everyone to use.
Remember, use it at your own risk! CleverWP.com gives you the opportunities, but takes no responsibility!
“myWordPress.com gives you the oppertunities” ???
Dont you mean opportunities?
Woops, you are quite right. The typo has now been fixed, thanks for telling me
Thanks To Give Another Plugin. I am not using but i will try it now.
This sounds like a Great idea, but has it been shown to help anything?
Also, should the user of mUPFM disable any plugins like MBP ping optimizer or Smart Update Pinger?
Thanks!
Hi Luke
The only thing it helps is getting your pings more varied. At various times and from varied IP’s.
It could be argued that it could speed up indexation of your new posts if you are on a new blog. Google seems to be quite quick to pick up new posts once your blog gains some age, and some backlinks, but for a young domain? This could help gain attention, and by not doing it TOO often, and from the SAME IP, it could help.
In terms of actual SEO value.. I believe the value is just about … 0.
And about the other plugins? No, not unless there is a conflict I do not know? Each of these plugins are similar in terms of what they try to achieve, they all just go about it differently, with myUsersPingForMe (stupid long name I regret) being the far most simple.
